Welcome To Europe Available At Bleep.com
As mentioned previously, Squarepusher will be offering 3 digital downloads from his upcoming album, Hello Everything, due out 16 October on WARP Records. The first release, "Welcome To Europe" is now available for purchase and download on Bleep.com. Only one of these tracks will be actually available on the album, so if you're clever, you can sort out which track WILL be on the album, but why bother since all of them are brilliant anyways. This should also put any of the naysayers to rest that the tracks some lucky people have been able to get a hold of are indeed Squarepusher, as Welcome To Europe proves...Friday, August 25, 2006

Squarepusher On The Modern Bass Guitar
Tom said recently about his newest track, "The Modern Bass Guitar" off his upcoming album, Hello Everything (due out 16 October):"The Modern Bass Guitar" takes it's name from the totally unrelated scheme to make all McDonalds restaurants self -sustaining. The plan is to present each female customer within the age range of 13- 45 with a free, brand new iPod with each purchase. Throughout the year, the value and sophistication of each iPod presented is to be increased, such as to induce and perpetuate a state of chronic jealousy in the clientele. The heat produced by each customer is to be collected by subtly positioned heat exchangers, each capable of producing up to 10kW every hour from an averagely irritated woman, and a peak power of 30kW from verbal abuse and physically manifested rage. This coupled with the background frustration at eating food which gives you cancer, costs a lot of money and smells like a nappy should set McDonalds well on the way to powering every deep -crap fryer with misery. Alchemy is acheived - muck into gold (and then back into muck)."
Tom's a madman, but that's why we love him, eh?
Some of you asked where I got this - it was a link off of the most recent July 2006 WARPBot email - here's the direct link to the quote on WARP Records' website.
